We have Tasmanian advices to the 11th. The papers are full of the details connected with the Prince's visit to Hobart Town.

The Galatea waa ofFEaglehawk Neck at mne a.m. oil the 6th, and arrived in the graver off Hobar% Town at three o'clock \ p.m., being attended in her course up the • river by the steamer Southern Cross. In the course of the afternoon His Excellency Sir GK Gore ;Brown and Sir Richard Dry went on board the Galatea, and in the evening the Duke landed, with a few of his officers, to dine at Government House. The party was a small one, including only the Ministry. On Tuesday at noon the official landing took place, in the presence of some 10,000 or 12,000 people. The Prince on landing was welcomed by the Mayor and Corporation of Hobart Town, who presented an address to His Royal Highness. A procession was subsequently formed and marched through the principal streets of the city. Five thousand children belonging to the various Sundayschools sang an original ode of welcome and the National Anthem. The aquatic torchlight procession took place the same evening* An explosion of fireworks occurred on board the steamer Twins, and caused great alarm. The deck of the vessel was burnt in several places, and the bulwarks caught fire, but no material damage was done. At night all the principal eminences* in the neighborhood of the town were lighted up with bonfires. On the Bth the Prince. laid the foundation stone of the new cathedral, in the presence of about 5000 persons ; and in the afternoon held a levee, at which about 400 gentlemen were presented. The next day the grand regatta came off, and the Duke presented the prizes to the successful competitors. At night the Governor's ball took place in the town hall, and was attended by 1200 ladies and gentlemen. On Friday; the Prince visited the residence of the Hon. R. Officer, Speaker of the House of Assembly, and subsequently rode over to the Salmon Ponds. Owing to the unfavorable state of the weather, the general illumination of Hobarfc Town had been postponed until the night of the 11th.
