Lord Ashley, Capt, Worsp, left Auokland on Saturday 12th inst., at 5.80 p.m., and arrived at Tauranga next morning at 8.40; left again at noon, experienced W. winds as far as East Cape, and from thenoe to port strong southerly winds and squally weather. Came to an anchor in the roadstead at midnight on Monday the Hth. The Lord Ashley Bteamed for Wellington and southern ports next day (Tuesday) at 1 p.m., oarrying the Engiinh mail via Suez. The s.s. Wellington, Capt. Holmes, left Port Chalmers on the 2nd November, at 4.15 p.m., arriving at Lyttelton next day at 1 p.m ; left for Wellington on 14tb, at 3 p.m., arriving at Castle Point next morning at 11 o'clock; left for this port at 8.30 p.m., on the 17 tb, and arrived in the roadstead at 10.45 a.m. yesterday. From Port Chalmers to* Wellington had line weather, and thence to this port strong westerly wiods and heavy sea. Ihe Wellington will take her departure for Auokland and Tauranga this day at noon. The s.s. Star of the South, Capt. Bendall, left this port on 9th inst., at 3.80 p.m., with a strong southerly gale and thick weather. At 5.80 p.m. oame to an anchor under shelter of Cape Kidnappers, where she remained until six next morning, when, tbe wind veering to the W. with a strong gale, prooeeded on her voyage. At midnight of the llth ran through the French Pass, arriving at Nelson next morning (Saturday) at 5 a.m. Left Nelson on Monday, 14th, at 7 p.m., got through the Frenoh Pass at midnight, and was off Wellington Heads next morning, where the s.s. Wellington was sighted entering Wellington harbour from the southard. When about 20 miles to the N. of Castle Point, at 1 a.m. on the 16 th, passed tbe s.s.. Lord Ashley ; also, the same morning, sighted a cutter, supposed to be the St. Kilda, off Bare Island. The Star of the South came to an anchor in the roadstead at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, entering the pot at four the same afternoon. She steams again for Tauranga, Thames goldfleld, and Auckland this day. The cutter Ringleader, from Poverty Bay, bound south, came to an anchor in the roadstead on Tuesday last, taking hor departure again next day. The cutter Ht, Kilda, bound for Wellington, and schooner Annie, for Moeangangi, Waihua and Mohaka, took their departure on Tuesday morning last.
