PROJECTED DEPARTURES.

Lord Ashley, s.s., for Wellington and Southern ports, 15th instant. "Wellington, s.s., for Tauranga and Auckland, 19th instant. St. Kilcla, s.s., for Chatham Islands, early. Hero, koteh, for Wniroa, early. The s.s. Wellington, Captain Holmes, left this port on 25th of September, and arrived at Tauranga at 5.30 p.m. the following day. Left again at 7 p.m., and arrived in Auckland at noon on the 27th, She left again on the 29th, and arrived at Tauranga at 7.30 a.m. on the 30th ult. Left at about 9on the same day, and arrived in port last Tuesday. She experienced strong north-east winds on her passage up. and light winds on her return. The s.s. Star of the South, Captain Bendall, left Auckland on the 30th ultimo, at i) p.m., with light north>west wiuds and fino weather to East Cape, which was rounded on Tuesday, the Ist instant, at 10 p.m. From thence ' to port experienced strong westerly wiuds and squally weather. Passed Portland Island at noon on Wednesday, and arrived in the roadstead at 10 p.m. the same clay. Captain Bendall reports having passed a steamer on Tuesday morning, off Mercury Bay, supposed to bo tho Lord Ashley ; also, a schooner and the cutter Lady Wynyard, off Poverty ßßaty t bound for the North. The cutter Mania, which left this port on Monday, 23rd ultimo, arrived off Wairoa on Tuesday, the 24th, having had light northerly winds the whole way. On Wednesday landed cargo, and took 300 bushels of maize on board ; came down the river on Friday, and was bar bound till last Wednesday, when she managed to get away at 10 a.m. Arrived in port on Thursday morning, having experienced strong westerly winds on her passage down. The s.s. Wellington, with ttfe English Panama mail on board, steamed for Wellington and Southern ports on Wednesday last, at 1 30 p.m. • The s.s. Storm Bird took her departure for Wellington on Monday evening last-; she

took a small cargo, principally consisting of potatoes, The schooner Annie, bound for Mohaka, left the Pot on Tuesday last, with a full cargo of sundries. The cutter Miranda, Judd, master, left for Auckland on Thursday. , ■The Colonial Government gunboat, St. Kilda, may be expected here, ia a day or two,' from Wellington ; from this port she will take her departure for the Chatham Islands. - The schooner Suocess, Trimmer, left Auokland for Wangapoa on 20th ult., and arrived there on Sunday the 22nd. Took a cargo of timber on board, but was delayed through stress of weather till Sunday the 29th, when she proceeded, on her voyage, calling in at Awanui, Kaipara, and Waipero; rounded Portland Island on Thursday last, and arrived in Port about 3 a.m. yesterday.
