The Lord Ashley is due on Friday next from Auckland, and will steam to Wellington the 1 same day, carrying the English mail via Suez. 1 The Star of the South, upon her return \ from Tologa Bay, will make a trip to Auckland, leaving Napier, it is expected, to-mor-row. On her return from Auckland she will , take another oargo of sheep to the Coast. - I The Succesß, schooner, left Wellington on Sunday, the 3rd inst., and was six days on the passage to this port, having had light notherly winds throughout. 1 A heavy surf has been rolling into the Bay these two days— not to be accounted for by, any weather we have had in Napier. A schooner arrived last evening, supposed to be the Henry returned from Tangoio, with wool on board. 1 We understand that Mr, Worsp, chief officer of the Claud Hamilton, will take command of the s.s. Airedale at Nelson, and exchange with Captain Kennedy, of the s.s. ■ Lord Ashley, at Manukau. — Independent, March 2. Tbe Sunbeam has taken her last bale of wool on board, and celebrated that event by firing a gun yesterday evening.— lbid. The ship Norval, 679 tons, Captain Taylor, r anchored in harbor at 10 p.m., on Wednesday last after a passage of 100 dayß from Dover. i She left Dover on the 9th Nov., and the Lizard on the 21st of the same month. She spoke tbe Dunelin, bound to Wellington, on ' the 22ud about 60 miles off the Liisard. Ex - perienced strong winds, veering from N.W. to . S.W., throughout the passage, In lat.'47 deg, 30 mm. S., long. 135 E. got among the ice- [ bergs, and was beset with them for two days. , The Norval brings a general oargo, and is , consigned to Mesßrs. W. &Q, Turnbull & Co. } — Ibid. The Ealph Abercombie oleared at Lyttleton \ for London on the 25th ult., with a oargo of 2195 bales of wool, valued at £65,737.
