Amebican Poetby. — Apropos of the subjoined specimen, the Pall Mall Gazette remarks that our English rhymesters must surely assume the well-known attitude of the British, lion — put their tails between their legs, and howl with anguish — when they read the following from "Drift, and '-. other Poems, by George Arnold," just published in Boston :-— "Here "With my beer • Isit, While golden moments flifc : Alas! They pass , Unheeded by ; ' And as they fly, •.■■■ ' Being dry, , git idly: sipping here My beer," '
