The Wanganui Bridge. — The difficulties in the way of proceeding with the erection of the Wanganui bridge appear to be at an end, as we learn from the Tunes of Friday last that within the last week or two His Honor the Superintendent has invested some four or five thousand pounds in the debentures. We believe the money belongs to some of the chiefs who recently sold the Manawatu block, and other natives who have placed sums in his hands for investment. The Bridge Committee have recently sold four hundred pounds worth, making in all £9,000 worth sold. There will be no difficulty in disposing of the remainder, and no delay whatever in accepting the tender for the erection of the Bridge. There may be some points in the terms of the contract to be finally arranged, but nothing to prevent the work going on at the contractor's earliest convenience. — N.Z. Advertiser.
