Marriage of Miss M'Lean. — The holy bands of matrimony were celebrated yesterday morning in the new Scotch Church Lambton Quay, between one of the oldest and most respected settlers in this part of the Colony, Robert Hart, Esq., bafrister-at-law, and Miss M'Lean, sister to His Honor the Superintendent of Hawke's Bay. The Rev. Mr. Muir officiated upon the occasion, and great interest appeared to be manifested with regaH to it, not only by the personal friends of the bride aud bridegroom, but also by the public generally. The church was thronged by spectators, and we noticed that there were present many of the elite of the city. After the friends of the newly-mar-r ied pair had partaken of the wedding breakfast, at the residence of Mr. Strang, the happy couple drove off to Blackie's, Horokiwi Valley, where they will spend their honeymoon. — Advertiser, Jan, 11. Wairarapa Mercury. —We have to acknowledge receipt of the second number of a new iournal under this designation. It. is well printed and would seem to be ably edited. It sees the light under very disadvantageous circumstances for New Zealand journalism, but we trust the enter-., prise of its proprietors will, nevertheless, not be without an adequate return.
