RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Thubsday, January 3. Larceny. — George Sinclair waa charged by George Wilkie with stealing a blanket and coat, his property. Sinclair (who is a very old stager) pleady guilty, and was senten-r eed to six month's imprisonment with hard labor. Friday, January 4. Civil Cases. — Of these a great number came on for hearing yesterday :-^-Bousfield v. Waaka Kawatini, a claim f0r ,£,1 1,45. Defendantdid not appear, but had previously paid £8 into court, which was accepted. Tiffen v. J. Miller, claim £6 10s for rent* judgment confessed. Jones v. Brady, claim £4 ; judgment confessed. Blake v. M'lntyre, claim £28 7s 6d ; judgment confessed. O'Brien v. Scott, a claim for £23 2s; judgment by default. Taylor v. J. Miller, a, claim for £8 ; judgment for defendant. Lyndon v. G. Stewart, a claim, for £3.5 6s, balance of rent due; judgment by default. Begg v. Gidhey, claim £18 75,9 d; judgment confessed. Master and Servant— W. B. Pinhornsued B. D. Danvers for £15. 35., wages alleged to be due for the services of himself and wife.
