■■■ " 7 .ii -i.i_~._-ip -- Sir Frederick Pottinger, Bart., died at the Victoria Club on Sunday evening last at 2 p.m., from the effects of a wound received by him from the accidental discharge of a pi_tol about - five weeks since. Ho was the son of Sir Henry Pottinger, who, in 1839, was created a Baronet , for his services as Political Resident at Cutoh v and Soiude. Sir Frederick, who at one tinie^ held a commission in the Guards, on his arrival, in this colony obtained an appointment in the police force, and when the uew Police Act came 7 into operation, was appointed a Police luspectoi*, . whioh office he filled until about three ttiquthsV. since, Sir Frederick died in his thirty-fourth year. - Ho was attended in his last moments by the Rev.T;Canon AHwood, of St. James's.
