Drought in New South Wales. — Want of rain is the subject of grievous complaint in many of the New South Wales districts. The Sydney Mail says — "Not only the farmers but even the squatters are beginning in some places to call out for rain, for feed is getting scarce and waterholes are shrinking. The greatest sufferers on our continent at present, however, are the squatters in the far north of South Australia. Tliere has been no rain there for eighteen months. The feed is all parched up, and pressed hay has to be sent up in horsewaggons to keep the station horses alive. Unless rain comes it will be necessary to kill the lambs to save the sheep. No part of our colony is so badly off as that at present."
