The Exhibition Building. — An inspection of an excellent photograph, by Mr. M'Gregor, of Dunedin, from a drawing of the design by Mr. Mason, for the New Zealand Exhibition, just re- 7 ceived by the chairman of our local committee, enables us to speak in the highest praise of the elegance of the design and of the liberality of the Provincial Government of Otago in incurring the large necessary outlay. The style. is-Italian. .The main building, which is agreeably varied by a centre and side towers, is already roofed in ; two large wings also form part of the design?; and the entire fabric is, we understand, to be of brick and cement. . "~ „.-:; The English Mail.— We call the attention oft our readers, town and country, to the fact of the^ mail for England. closing on the 6th, instead of the 10th of the month, as formerly. The Inland Mail.— Next month new tenders will be required for the inland mail service ; and we are glad to learn that the future contractor' between Napier and Waipawa will be required to~ provide a sufficient vehicle for. the carriage of the mails between these two places. The late Theatrical Performance.-- It ■will, be seen that this performance has yielded the handsome sum of £12 35., which Major. Douglas has undertaken to forward to the Treasurers of the N". Z.
