AUCKLAND
By the Kauri" our dates from Auckland
are to the llth inst. We had made copious extracts from the papers to haud, but a press of advertisements' compels, us k t|o leave them ,<fflsK}sß TfJi'y^W The telegram fromrthe General, announcing his unopposed arrival at Ngaruawahia, ou board the Pioneer with 500 men, is published. The receipt of this telegram was known, it appears, to the members who left by the " Lord Ashley," but none of them, apparently, thought it necessary to make the fact public here. The "Lady Jocelyu," steamer, arrived at Aucklaud on the 10th inst., with 21 officers and 646 rank aud file of the 43rd Eegimeut — 48 women and 93 children. She also brings 600,000 rounds of rifle amuiuuitiou. The " Armenian," with the second portion of the 43rd and a part of the 68th, was speedily to follow. Insidious proposals of peace continue to be made, as will be seen from a correspondence reprinted in another column. The government would seem to be firm.
