Commissariat, Napier, 26th^December,- 1862. rpENDERS will be, received at this office until A Noon of Monday, the 12th day of January next, from persons willing to contract for furnishing the undermentioned supplies, in such quantities, at such' times, and at such places within one mile of the Barracks at Napier as may be directed by the undersigned, or by his successor in office, during the twelve calendar months commencing the Ist of April next. IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the G-eneral Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Eegulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, G-eorge Sisson Cooper, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Te Aute, Do Hereby Give Notice that by virtue of a Writ addressed to me bearing date the sth day of December, 1862, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and the Public Seal of the said Colony, an Election will be held for the return of TWO legally qualified persons to serve as Members of the Provincial Council of the Province of Hawke's Bay for the Electoral District of Te Aute aforesaid, and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the principal polling-place for the said District, on Friday the ninth day of January, 1863, at the hour of noon, and that the Poll (if demanded) will take place on Tuesday the thirteenth day of January, 1863, and that I will declare the result thereof at the principal polling place on Thursday the fifteenth day of January, 1863, at the hour of noon.
