Souter intended to come round the North Cape, but, the wind not being favourable, he had to come through Cook's Straits. We can see no ndtice of the arrival of the Arabella, 136 days out from Napier, at latest dates-from London. We observe that the captain of the Kent, ship, arrived from Melbourne, reported very heavy weather off Cape Horn— loo tons of copper ore and flour, and 28 tuns of oil, having had to be thrown overboard to save the ship
