George Brown was fined ss. for being found drunk. Marshall v. Boyd. — A claim for £6 12s. Settled out of Court.

Chapman v. Charlton. — Plaintiff claimed £17 10s. 6d., for grazing defendant's horses at Greenmeadows. The Court ruled that, plaintiff being only overseer to Mr. Tiffen, who was owner of Greenmeadows and with whom the agreement for grazing was made, he could not sue in his own person. The case was then postponed till Friday. Charles Mclntyre was fined 10s. and 10s. 6d. costs for assaulting Lucy Swain by throwing a bucket of water over her. The parties are neighbours, and the assault arose through defendant tying his horse to a disputed piece of fence, whereby complainant's trees were alleged to be damaged.

Evans v. McKenzie. Defendant was charged with a breach of the Impounding Ordinance in allowing 3 pigs to run at large in the streets. Ordered to pay 9d. penalty and 6s. costs.

Tiffen ■». Charlton. This was a claim for the grazing of defendant's horses at Greenmeadows. Defendant admitted the claim, but alleged as the reason of non-payment that he had Bent a foal to the place to depasture, since which time he had never seen or heard of it. He attributed the loss of the foal to negligence on the part of the plaintiff or his servants, and to their not having placed it in a paddock properly fenced. The plaintiff denied that he was responsible for horses sent to graze. The Court gave judgment for the amount claimed and costs 235.
