Hawke. y^ TN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act A of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled " The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, John Curling, Esq., Returning Officer for the Electoral District of County of Hawke, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the r !twenty-seventh day of March, 1860, issued under the hand of his Excellency the Grovernor of New Zealand, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a Member of the House of Representatives for the said Electoral District, (in consequence of James Burne Ferguson Esquire, a member of the said House of Representatives for the said Electoral District of the County of Hawke, having resigned his seat in the said House), and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the School-house, Napier, at noon on Thursday the twenty-sixth day of April 1860 ; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on Saturday, the fifth day of May 1860 ; and that the state of the Poll will be declared at noon on Monday, the fourteenth day of May, 1860, at the School-house, Napier, Dated this fifth day of April, 1860.
