'Of doings in the prosperous settlement of- - C;tago, and of late destructive fires in the Province of Canterbury, full particulars will be found in this day's supplement. From Auckland we have papers to the Bth inst., but they are singularly destitute of news'. Our advices from Wellington show no improvement there in things political. A vote of want of confidence in the Government had been passed by the Council. The Government, party continue to agitate for a dissolution,,. as. the only remedy for 'the existing state of things .
