Okaiawa Fancy Fair

Funds for Presbyterian Church A fancy fair and baby show was hei i in the Oaaiawa Hall on Tuesday and drew a large crowd. The fair opened in the afu-inoon with a baby show. 10 babies being entered. Results were as follow: Six months and under, Effie AlcDonald (Inaha) 1, Jill Stoddart (Inaha) 2; six months and over, Jean Andrew (Alrnaia), 1, Jean OBrhclay (Okaiawa), 2; other babies who competed were KaithiineV Lteen (Tempsky Road), June Riley (Auroa), Patricia Horgan, Ross Watts, Alex Biggs, Valery Walker.

Alatrou Smith and Sister Smart (Hawera) were judges and both received shoulder spi ays from Aliss EL Washer.

Oldfield In the evening a concert was held and items were rendered by the Hawera Presbyterian Choir and local talent as follows: Presbyterion (Choir. •‘Sunset Reverie” and “In Evening Twilight; Air B. Watts (Hawera.), mandolin solo; choir, “Old Alotlicr Hubbard”; solo, Aliss Smith, “Dawn •ikies”; choir, vocal march; solo, Mr O. Lamb, “Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes”; elocution, Aliss Whitlock; choir, “Good-night Beloved”.; tenor solo, Air Greenhill, “Friend o’ Alme ; chorus, choir; solo, Air G. Cottrell. Two hymns were sung by the Okaiawa Sunday school children under the leadership of Air E. Penfold and Aliss D. Crosby was at the piano. All* Lamb led the Hawera choir, with Air L. Rowe at the piano.
