Normanby Basketball Club
Final Dance of Series Prevalent* wintry weather did not deter a large crowd from attending ail always popular function, the Normajpby Basketball Club dance, tl(q final of its series, held in the Normanby Town Hail on Alonday night. Vern Henry’s Valencia Dance Band supplied a |bright and varied (programme of music and dancing was enjoyed till a late hour. Extras were played by Airs Gower, while Air Keith 'Tippett was master of ceremonies. The hall had been gaily decorated for the occasion by a band of willing workers, including Alisses Al. Hopcroft, M. Schicker, I. Schicker, N. Hurley, C. Stewart and Airs Don Stewart in streamers of green and gold, with the walls covered in foliage and brightly liued flowers. The stage was decorated with greendry intermingled with red camellias. A Alonte Carlo waltz was won by Air and Airs Carlson (Alangatoki), and a waltzing novelty, which caused much amusement, was won by Ali; L. Schicker and Aliss Silvia Tippett. Under the supervision of the basketball club, the supper committee comprised Mesdames D. Stewart, sen., u. Stewart, jun., J. Archbold. T. Pickering and J. Tippett. Among those present were Alisses AI. Hoperoft, floral organdie; E. Hur(Okaiawa), pink velvet; C. Stevvart, orange taffeta j El. FlintofF, -pink satin; G. Stewart, flame satin; Eileen Flintoff, blue satin; I. Schicker, cherry reel georgette; AT. Schicker, blue crackle organdie; M. Dickering, black and pink evening tunic; Pat Hickej, shell pink georgette; S. Tippett, blue velvet; M. Forsters (Alidhirst), red taffeta; H. Turner, green taffeta; G. Tubby, black velvet; AI. Alichlalick, gold satin; A- Rowe, red satin; (Patricia Column, blue velvet and white coatee; D. Aloore, black velvet; G Belli, wine velvet; I. White, black lace: H. Belli, blue velvet; N. Loader wine windswept satin; D. Slingei, Hornl voile; I. Preston, lime green chiffon; J- Carlson (Eltharn), orange windswept satin; I. Carlson (Eltharn) pink embossed taffeta; Airs C.
