Eltham Social Notes
District Residents on Holiday
Miss G. Were, of Wellington, is visiting Eltham. Mrs H. Gibb entertained at afternoon tea on Wednesday.
Miss M. Penmann, of New (Plymouth, is spending a few days with Mrs R. S. Allan. Mrs D. Knuekey has returned home after visiting Wellington, Mrs W. Lagnston is staying with her daughter, Mrs R. Keith, at Hamilton.
Miss I. Tapi in is holidaying at Greymouth.
Mrs L. Weir has returned to Eltham after spending a few days in Wellington. Mrs M. McGarry was hostess at bridge on Monday afternoon, when there were present Lady Carncross, Mesdames B, Brown, P. de Launay. A. A. Stewart.' C. C. Stanners, A. Tiplady, A. Craig and Mrs S. Camcross. The prize for the alternoon went to Mrs Stanners and a consolation prize was awarded Mrs de Launay, Mrs G. Thomas (neei K. Pcftts), a member of the Eltham Women’s Hockey Club, was the recipient of a handsome gift from her cub-mates. Mrs T. Reakes, who has always displayed keen interest in hockey affairs, was also made a presentation. Mesdames A. Tiplady and J. B. Brown were hostesses at bridge on Tuesday afternoon.
