CHILD ELECTROCUTED
POWER. LINE FALLS ON FENCE FATAL SHORT CUT TAKEN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Aug. 22.' Dorien Olga Smith, aged 7, was electrocuted to-day when she grasped the wire of a fence on which a power line had fallen. The girl with some companions was going home from the Putorino schqol when they attempted a short cut through a paddock. Her companions called a nearbv farmer, who grasped the gumboots worn by the child and pulled the body from the wire, but she was already dead.
