PASTEURISED MILK
DEFINITION UNDER ACT.
ORDER-IN-COUNCIL PUBLISHED. CBy Telegraph—Press Association,? WELLINGTON, Aug. 22. The definition of pasteurised milk is contained in an Orderdn-Council published in the Gazette to-night, which amends certain regulations under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 190 S. The order stipulates that pasteurised milk shall he milk which has been retained at a temperature of not less than 145 degrees Fahrenheit and not more than 150 degrees for at least 30 minutes and immediately ‘cooled to 55 degrees and protected from recontamination. The milk shall not be so heated more than once and shall not be otherwise treated by heat. It shall not contain any living coliform pa’cillus in one-tenth of a cubic centimetre.
The order also requires containers of pasteurised milk or cream to bo labled as such.
