Normanby Women’s Institute
Two Competitions Decided Competitions at Wednesday’s monthly meeting of the Normanby Women’s Institute were for the best quilted article, which was won by Miss P. Gane, with Mrs Knuckey second and for the best hen eggs, won by Miss C. Stewart, with Mrs Harrison second. A very interesting lecture on poultry-raising was given. There was a good attendance of members and Miss Free presided. Visitors from neighbouring institutes and two new members were welcomed. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Mesdames Galloway and Hay. The resignation of the treasurer, (Mrs Phillips, was received with regret and Mrs Knuckey was appointed to the vacancy. It was arranged to have a “bring and'buy’’ stall in September. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Hopcroft, Adams, Eeydon andlMinhinnick.
