FIRE DESTROYS FARMHOUSE
BUILDING A TOTAL LOSS
Just after 2 o’clock this afternoon fire broke out in a o-roomed house occupied by 31r Savage and family, on the corner of Tawhiti and Grant roads, and tlie building was completely destroyed. The members of the family were absent from the home at the time of the outbreak, and it is not known how the fire started. Absolutely nothing was saved and all that remained of the house at 3 p.m. was the chimney and the wireless mast.
When the fire was first noticed, it had a good ]iold and practically nothing could be done to l effect a save, even had. water supply been available, which it was not.
