DESIRE FOR FRIENDSHIP
GERMAN MAN, IN STREET,
BRITISH LEGION’S IMPRESSIONS (British Official Wireless) Received 1.10 p.m. to-day. RUGBY, July 24. Upon the return of the members of tbe British Legion from Germany it is said that there was no doubt of a genuine wish on the part of the German man in the street for friendship with Britain. It- was felt sure that this feeling was not inspired by political motives or propaganda. Herr Hitler impressed as a practical idealist and had said most definitely that ex-ser-vicemen should come together and assist in ensuring peace. The British delegation hoped to arrange an exchange of visits of children of ex-ser-vicemen.
