METEOROLOGICAL CONFERENCE
DR. KIDSON A DELEGATE SUBJECTS FOR CONSIDERATION (By Tflleeraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 27. Leaving Wellington to-day for Auckland en route for England, Dr. E. Kidson, Director of Meteorological Services, will attend two very important meteorological conferences. One of these, the Empire meteorological conference, is to be held at London and will be attended by meteorologists from all part of the Empire. One of the main subjects for consideration is that of Imperial aviation, in the successful conduct of which meteorology plays an important part. Agricultural and seasonal forecasting will also come under consideration. Another important section of the conference will be devoted to marine meteorology. Of even more importance is the international conference of meteorological directors which is scheduled to take place at Warsaw. Dr. Kidson was elected to the permanent committee of this conference in 1931. The problems to be discussed at this conference cover a very wide range, among them being that of formulating an international code for weather messages. International co-operation in the interchange of meteorological messages is very difficult as the requirements of the countries - are so different.
