LEVIN RACING CLUB

“EXTRA DAY” MEETING FIELDS FOR TO-MORROW REVIEW OF PROSPECTS. (By “Childers.”) The Levin Racing Club is to be congratulated for its enterprise in staging an “extra (lav” meeting to-morrow, the success of which seems to lie assured. Splendid fields have accepted for the various events and the racing should be of a high standard. The single pool (75-25) betting system will be in use. 11.45 MAIDEN STAKES. Of £7O. About six furlongs (all S. 10). Apoj t> ’ Manulele Earl Colossus Garter Red l’opeotu Jean Batten Popette False Witness Even Money Ekatere Happy Hunting Pylon Kitty Quinn Red Hunting Warehi Hilton Gorse Royal King Apolo ran a fair race at Eoxton, land so xlid Kitty Quinn, although neither was in a place. Consistent Happy Hunting must be given a great chance of breaking her run of outs here. Garter Red is improving, his second to Arouse at Foxton being a useful effort. Hilton Gorse has run some fair races lot times; so have False Witness, Popette, Ekatere and Earl Colossus. However, the bulk of investments may come for HAPPY HUNTING, GARTER RED and HILTON GORSE. 12.25 WAITARERE HACK & HUNTERS’ STEEPLECHASE:

Despite his weight, Transact looks certain to run well. Diamond has been shaping promisingly in his schooling tasks, and so has Invictus. The former

South Islander Gallivantcr must be respected, but Cardhu is preferred. He is a smart ’chaser in the making. Hard Gold and Hunting Boy have run fair races at times, while Te Rangitumau should jump well. Good reports are to hand of The Ranger, who hails from T. R. George’s stable. The favourites may be CARDHU, TRANSACT and DIAMOND. 1.5 HEATHERLEA HACK HANDICAP.

Dollar Bill appears to be a vastly amproved galloper, and consistent Bodylino should run his usual solid, toco. The southerner Unseen lias been racingwell of late, while 'Solaria has his chance here to make amends for his Ellerslie defeats. Hunting, Mars, Leprechaun iand Gay Bo\ r can all gallop fast, but should be held : safe by Colenso if he is at all forward. Mid : acre and Whetuma are both capable of springing a surprise. Most support may come for COLENSO, SOLARIA and BODYLINE. 1.45 KOPUTAROA HANDICAP. Of £IOO. Seven furlongs.

Orapai has plenty of weight; but is an honest customer and clan bo relied on to run his usual solid race. Pladie can tuu out a solid seven, and also Cottesmore. Miss Hushaby© is seen at her best on a heavy track, but would be better suited by a longer journey. The stablemates Cawbeen and Royal Bengal both showed good form at Hastings and Napier and the pick of the pair can be relied on to be hard to beat. Carfex is useful over seven, but dt is hard to see him beating Hunting Lodge, who meets him on little worse terms than when she defeated him at Foxton. Trishna seems to have gone off, while the class looks rather strong for Gold Cure. A wide range of betting mav be heiaded by ‘ HUNTING LODGE OEAPAI MISS HUSnABYE n 25 GRAND HACK CUP. Of £l2o. One mile and a-quarter.

Round Score has not raced since Feilding at Easter, when he won attractively. Arctic King should run out a solid mile . and n-quarter, and so should Manawatu, who won handsomely at Wanganui.. The distance may trouble Rcipa.r, but Tupurangi is a failsort. Kurapae is clown to a handy weight again so must be given an excellent c-hancc. Hunting Bag has been most disappointing of late, while both Brigadore and Royal Guy may find this class rather strong. Throe in demand should be KURAPAE ARCTIC KING MANAWATU

3.0 ! IHAKARA HACK HANDICAP.

class, although he failed at Pahiatua. Reipar can run a good seven, also Solaria. Gay Boy ran well at Foxton, where Lord Moutoa; and Leprechaun both ran solid .races. Confiscation and Dorado would be better suited by a longer journey and Haunui, who is working nicely at present, is preferred. Whefuma or Padnos may surprise. Investors may prefer lIAUNUI. SOLARIA and PUKEKO. 3.50 KIMBERLEY HACK HANDICAP. Of £SO. Five furlongs.

Happy Hunting 7 3 . Several of these are engaged earlier in the day and their form then should throw a better light on their prospects here. Unseen is a speedy sort and so is Bodylinc. Grand 'Score ran well in his last start at To Rapa and should be all the better for the outing. Bazuinc disappointed at Wanganui, while All Spirit may need the race. Abbey Feale, Vivienne and Happy Hunting should do best of the others. The order of favouritism may be GRAND SCORE, BODYLINE and UNSEEN.
