PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES ' United Artists have received cabled advice from the New York office advising that Mi- A. Litcbman has been made president .in place of Ml* Joseph; M. Schenek, resigned. It is further stated that Mr David O. Sclznick, Metru-Golclwyn-Meyor’s foremost producer, has joined United Artists and is to produce six pictures for the coming season. David Selznick made many outstanding pictures for Metro-Gold wyn, including “Dinner at Eight,” “David C-opperfield,” “Tale of Two Cities”, and “Alina Karenina.” Other production activities under United Artists’ banner for the coining year include six pictures from Samuel Gold wyn, Merle Oberon in “The Dark Angel,” Miriam Hopkins nr “Barbary Coast,” “Splendour,” Eddie Cantor in “Dreamland,” also “Goldwyn Follies” and “Navy Born.” Charlie Chaplin is making two with his “Production No. ■5” and one with Paulette Goddard. Reliance Pictures will provide “Red Salute,” “The Melody Lingers On.” “Amateur Girl,” “Rlobin Hood” with Robert Donat as the star, and “The Lost of the Mohicans.” Alexander Korda, through London Films, announces six pictures “Elizabeth of England,” “Whither Mankind?” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Elephant Bov.” “Young Mr Disraeli” and “Nijinski.”
