KING’S JUBILEE PICTURES

PRESENTATION AT TAWHITI SCHOOL. A brief ceremony took place at the Taivhiti School to-day whoa tho “Ilawora "Star's” gift pictures of the King and Queen were presented by Air L. A. Ablett on behalf of the Hawera Star Publishing Company. Air Ablett, who was introduced to the assembled pupils by Air H. Thrush, chairman of the school committee, said that it was the desire of the donors of the photographs that the children of the district should have some permanent memento of Their (Majesties’ Jubilee. The school committee had [ undertaken the framing of the pictures, which would find a permanent place on the school walls. The speaker touched briefly upon the part played by the King and Queen in cementing the peoples of the Empire and hoped that the pictures would servo to keep green the children’s memories of Jubilee Dav.

Air IT. N. Murray, headmaster, in accepting the pictures on behalf of the school, expressed thanks for the gift •and appreciation of the spirit which prompted it.
