NEW TRANSMISSION METHOD
GERMAN INVENTION’S ADVANCE IMMENSE WAR-TIMEI VALUE (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph Copyright). BERLIN, June 20. The German Telefunken Company announces that experiments begun in 1933 with decimetre waves, namely from 10 centimetres to one metre, are now far advanced.- It claims that waves can be transmitted without the possibility of detection by anyone outside the line of transmission. The company states that the waves are immune from atmospherics and other interferences and will be of immense value in war time. Even if decimeter waves of the same wave lengths are used by different stations interference can be eliminated by turning the apparatus to the required direction while a magnetron Adless valve, no bigger than a thumb, has solved certain, reception problems. A demonstration to-day showed that waves can be used to assist in guidino- ships and aeroplanes iby the craft* keeping on the path directed by the ray.
