The general inference is that a deep depression is still centred to the east, but pressure is now rising over the Dominion with the advance of an anticyclone from the western Tasman Sea. The forecast is for strong south-west winds to gales, but moderating to-mor-row. The weather will be cold and unsettled, with heavy showers and had in places, with snow on tho ranges. Seas are high.
