KAPUNI
Fancy Dress Ball On Friday evening the Kapuni school children held a fancy dress ball in tiie Kapiini Hall, where there-was a very large attendance of parents and friends. Under the supervision of the teachers, Miss Burdis and Miss Buckeridge, games and dancing were enjoyed by the children. A .balancing trick caused much amusement. The winners of competitions received bars of chocolate and adults took the floor for dancing to music supplied by Mr Bert Eliason, with extras by Miss K. Buckeridge. Among the children in fancy dress were the following: Girls, Joan Barnsay (thistle), Joyce Mitchell (Russian peasant), Francis Luscombe (things of the past), Molly Sattler (nurse), Doreen Buckthought (Morris dancer), Jean Crosbie (English lady), Violet Crosbie (English gentleman), Joan Buckthought (Elizabethian lady in waiting), Thelma Simmons (Dolly Varden), Inez Paterson (gipsy), Joyce Rusling (Early Victorian lady), Josie Sattler (Victorian lady), Maureen Kissick (gipsy), Ida Cave (Irish colleen), Alaisie Barr (Dutch girl), Shirley Harrison (prince), fs'oima Scott (fairy), Betty Cameron (Old Mother Hubbard), Elsie Harrison (gipsy), Beryl Luscombe (England), .Nancy AVelham (Eastern princess). Peggy Cameron (Santa Claus), Vera Rusling (sailor girl), Dulcie 'Gulliver (gipsy), Kathleen Kissick (bride), Elsie Pickford (frills), Betty MacCleod (water fairy), June Lind (Dutch girl), Shirley Lind (lavender lady); boys, Lenny Cameron (sailor 1 boy), Norman Luscombe (cowboy), Ken Rusling (rags), Tommy Doyle (Tom Mix), Billy Snowdon (herald), Gordon Treanor (schoolboy), Len Scott (soldier), Bruce Downey (Robin Hood), Fred Sattler (gentleman), Oswald Steiner (Santa Claus), Peter Bickford (Grandad Rudd), Willy Ramsay (Chinese).
