DEATH OF MR. GEORGE BARKER

OLD ELTHAM RESIDENT SEIZURE AT FOOTBALL MATCH (From Our Eltharn Correspondent.) The death occurred at the Hawera hospital on Saturday of Mr George Barker, Eltham. Mr Barker was admitted to hospital following a seizure while watching a football match at Eltham on Thursday.

Mr Barker was born at Grimsby, England, in 1867, and came to New Zealand as a child of eight. The greater part of his life was spent in the Taranaki province, and he had boon a resident of EJltham for 25 years. In his earlier life Mr Barker was manager of the Mangorei Creamery for 15 years, and later followed the occupation of a gardener. He is survived by a widow and family of four daughters and three sons. The (laughters are Mesdames E. J. Gear (Hawera), W. Harrison (Opunake), and Misses E. and G. Barker (Eltham). The sons are Messrs Cyril Barker (Eltham), William Barker (Eltham) and Jack Barker (Foxton).
