NORMANDIE AT PLYMOUTH
CIVIC WELCOME DELAYED. HEAVY SEAS ON ARRIVAL. (British Ortifial Wireless) RUGBY, June 12. Plans for welcoming tlie'French liner Normandie on her arrival at Plymouth to-day after a record run were interfered with owing to heavy seas.* Four hawsers connecting the tender with Customs and immigration officers on hoard snapped before communication with the liner was established. Passengers were unable to leave the ship for several hours. Before her departure the DeputyLord Mayor of Plymouth and other civic officials went on hoard and congratulated the commander of the vessel on the great achievement.
