NEW BISHOP OF QUEBEC

FORMER DOMTNTON RESIDENT. HIGH SCHOLASTIC HONOURS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CTTRISTCHIHIGH, To-day. According to private ad. ’ice, Dr. Philip Carrington, formerly of Christchurch, the son of the Rev. C. W. Carrington, has been appointed Bishop of Quebec. Ho is at present chan and professor of divinity at the University of Bishops College, Lennosville Canada. Dr. Carrington graduated M.A. at Canterbury College in 1915. He later won high scholastic honours at Cambridge and was ordained priest at Christchurch in 3919. He was later vicar in country districts and also earned distinction ns an author. Recently the University of New Zealand conferred on him the degree of doctor -of divinity for work on the meaning of the revelation.
