Senator Long Opposes N.R.A. Extension Bill MEMBERS SLEEP AND WAIT (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). WASHINGTON, June 12. Senator Huey P. Long seized the centre of the political stage again today with one of his most determined filibusters, in which he spoke steadily for more than seven hours on the door of tho Senate and is still talking m an effort to prevent the passage oFihe National Recovery Administration extension resolution., He launched an attack on President Roosevelt and then varied his method with wit. “If the President does not do any better,” he said, “I may have to take it. I will be chosen practically unanimously By both parties. It is the stumbles and blunders and mistakes of my enemies that have made a man of Huey Long.” Then he gave a learned dissertation on the art of cooking as practised in his native State. Senators sat sleeping and waiting for him to grow weary as the session promised to continue throughout the night.
