Fourteen-Year-Old Boy Collides With Sedan Car i TRAGEDY ON MAIN ROAD THROWN FROM MACHINE A collision at Patea early last night between a bicycle and a motor car resulted in the ‘death of Clarence Wills, aged 13 years 11 months. The car was driven by .Mr W. G. Belton, of Ngutuwer»i, chairman of the Patea County Council, and the accident occurred on the main road about half a mile from Patea, near the cemetery gates. The boy, who suffered severe head injuries, died in the Patea Hospital about two hours after the collision. On his return after delivering milk, Wills was riding home against a strong wind and struck Mr Belton’s sedan car while he was crossing the road to his home, which, was only a few yards away. The boy was thrown forward when the cycle, struck the left headlamp and struck his head against the sun visor, projecting from the windscreen. The boy -and his father, Mr A. J. T. Wills, were taken by Mr Belton to the residence of Dr. W. T. Simmons, but death took place shortly after.
