PATRIOTIC FUNDS DECREASE

POSITION IN AUCKLAND FUND STANDS AT £52,900 (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June G. The rapid rate at which the fund of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic and War Relief Association is decreasing is illustrated in the annual report of the executive. It is anticipated that should the rate of 'expenditure continue as at present the fund will be exhausted in about four or five years. The report states that the board considered 5021 applications, 3430 being assisted and the fund lias now been reduced to £52,900. The original capital of the fund in 1915 was £347,104, but additional donations and interest received increased the fund to £634,949.
