Drowning Mars Racing at Southend Regatta THE ENDEAVOUR DISMASTED CHECK FOR MR. SOPWITH (British Official Wireless.) Received 2 p.m. to-dav. RUGBY,' June 6. Mr T. O. M. Sopwith’s famous yacht-, Endeavour, was dismasted and the Astra had a steward washed overboard and drowned during a race for competitor, and was awarded the race, gatia to-ca.v. This is the first event in British waters, in which the American yacht, Yankee, was competing. The Endeavour was leading when the accident happened. She was taken in tow by a pleasure steamer off Mause. The lightship Yankee reached home ahead of Valsheda, the only other competitor and was awarded the race.
