DROUGHT BROKEN AT LAST
Queensland Pastoralists Saved From Disaster
RAIN IN STRIKEN AREAS STEADY PALL CONTINUING (United fTeaa AMoelaUcts —By Elec trio Telegraph Copyright). Received noon. BRISBANE, To-day. Just when pastoralists wore losing all hope of saving any of their flocks, which were being depleted to an alarming extent, rain began to fall in the drought stricken areas and was continuing at midnight. A message earlier in the week stated that graziers were killing tlicir lambs in order to save their ewes, with the result that flocks were seriouslv depleted. Only 30 points of rain had fallen this year and many settlers faced ruin, as the country was devoid of grass and water sources were practically dried up.
