Mrs Livermore, of Taihape, who has been staying, with friends in Hawera, is now visiting New Plymouth. Miss' Chappnan, of Alaisterton, is the guest of her cousin, Mrs W. •W. Gibson. Mrs C. R. O’Carroll, of Inglewood, was the guest of her daughter, Mrs D’Arey Cameron, for the long weekend. Mrs J. Hobbs, who has been the guest of Airs A. E. Rawson, has returned. Miss D. Drew was the guest of Miss J. Collins, New Plymouth, for the long week-end. Mrs G. J. Bavley, who has been spending a few days in New Plymouth, has returned. Miss Anne Bright returned to Nga Tawa on. Thursday after spending the school holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs W. J. Bright. Taranaki visitors to Wanganui last week-end for the old girls’ reiinion of the Sacred Heart Convent included Mesdames Lane (Hawera), O Dea (Auroa). Henwood (Manaia), Brown (Manaia), Misses J. Murphy (Kapuni), G. McGrath (Hawera), G. Averv (New Plymouth), C. Brady (Hawera), M. Gibbon (New Plymouth), Mourie (Manaia), P. Nelson (Manaia), V. Quin (Hawera), E. Howard (Hawera), M. and E. Harrington (Hawera).
Wearing a model frock of henna coloured mnroeain with paler shaded trimmings. Miss G. White entertained at contract bridge on Thursday afternoon in Mrs O. K. Tennent’s honour. The latter was smartly attired in dove grey, with a hat to tone. Sprays of pink luculiai and, lavender stylosas, attractively arranged, made fragrant decorations. The players were Mesdames W. A Duckworth, H. D. Caplen, H. D. Hill, B- Evans, J. M. Collins. W. J. Bright, Misses Harvey (Christchurch;, Oaplen, Dingle, McLean and Svmes.
Airs H. D: Hill entertained a few friends at tea on Tuesday afternoon, when Mrs O. K. Tennent and Miss Margaret Tennent were the guests ot honour. The hostess wore a frock of deep prune-coioured marocain m itli beige trimmings, Airs Tennent choosing a smart suit of deep fawn flocked tweed, with hat to tone. Aliss forinent wore a stylish coat of brown and fawn checked tweed, with a brown silk velvet French beret. Tall vases of lemon chrysanthemums and jonquils were arranged in the room. Those present were Alesdames Oliver, W. O. AVilliams, W. A. Duckworth, E. Evans. \V D. Powdrell, H. R. Kemp, Misses Harvey (Christchurch), L. Chapman (Napier); Glenn, K. Coleman and A. Kemp.
Tn honour of her guest, Mrs Livermore, of Taihapo, Mrs L. J. Bull invited a few friends to afternoon, tea on Saturday. Mrs Bull’s frock was of lilack georgette, Mrs Livermore wearing a frock of -wine georgette and lace. Miss Watty, Mrs Bull’s sister chose an afternoon dress of brown and gold. The guests were Mesdames C. Bayley, Svmes, D. G. Smart, W. F. Buist, S C. Tonks and Miss Symes. Mrs Stark, of Hawera, has been the guest of her sister, Mrs Wetton, Jhithie Road, who is shortly leaving the district.
