Clean With Ammonia To stop silver t.rr,m tarnishing, L.H. should try the following method. First polish the silver well, either simplv by a good rub with chamois leather and whiting or thus: Put one teaspoon of ammonia in ono pint of very hot water and rub this liquid well all over the surface of the silver with a soft brush till no dirt remains. Then dry with a (floth and rub very dry for a few minutes with a chamois leather. Immediately following this polish, rub a little ot the following mixture well over every bit of Die surface of the silver: Mix together slowly over the fire fi or Boz. unsalted lard and loz. resin, When melted and mixed take from fire and stir till cool, then use. Silverware, first well polished, then rubbed over with a little of this mixture will not show the effects; and will keep its polish and shine almost indefinitely.
