1300 GUINEAS FOR SELVTUS COLT. HEROIC COLT 1200 GUINEAS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). SYDNEY, April 23.

At the yearling sales at the Newmarket yards to-day 1300 guineas was paid for a Silvius colt- out of Lunae Lumen, which is the dam of Dark Sky. The buyer was Mr Frank Masgrave, Caulfield, trainer of Dark Sky. For a chestnut colt by The Buzzard (imp.)—Bambina 750 guineas was paid by Messrs. MacKinnon and Cox, Melbourne. Another colt in the same draft was bought by Mr W. Tucker, Queensland, for 050 guineas. Mr WH. MoLac-hlan junr. paid. 725 ‘ guineas for a colt by Marconigram from the imported mare Virginal. Twenty-seven lots offered on behalf of Mr Percy Miller, of the Kia Ora istud at Scone, realised 3270 guineas, several of Jus' colts and fillies, by Caledon ranging from 90 to 500 guineas. Five Marconigram colts sold from 140 to, 725 guineas and six Sil verb urn colts brought from 120 to 290 guineas.

Five of The Buzzard colts from the Lyndhurst stud, Warwick, Queensland, realised from 190 to 750 guineas, - the New Zealander, 'Mr H. Bailey, securing a bay colt by The Buzzard from Eastern Belle for 190 guineas. A draft of Fernkloof colts, geldings and fillies from Mr Herbert Thompson’s stud at Widden made from 75 to 210 guineas.

A chestnut colt by Heroic from Spearette was bought by Mr J. Heaney (Victoria) for 1200 guineas. This colt is a full-brother to Maid of Orleans. T. Bradfield, trainer of Bimilla paid 800 guineas -for anotherHeroic colt from the .Spearhead mare Desert Song. A couple of Rossendale colts brought 190 and 250 guineas re-, spcctivcly.
