Patea Branch Meets
The Patea branch of the Presbyterian Church . AY omen’s Alissionary Union held a most successful afternoon in the new Druids’ Hall at Patea last week. The hall had been decorated by Airs Burnett and helpers. Airs H. A. Sutherland (Alton, president) extended a welcome to all. A short musical programme was enjoyed as follows: Pianoforte solo, Aliss GL Hall (Kakaramea); recitation, Aliss R. AlcCarty; song, Aliss G. Beer (Waverley); violin, solo, Aliss L. Sutherland (Alton); song, Airs F. AV. Hamel. A competition was won by Airs Illingworth (Alton). At. the conclusion of the programme Airs H. B. Burnett gave a talk on the P.W.ALU. and its work in the New Hebrides, the Solomon Islands and among the Alaoris. The address was followed by a song, “Bearing His Cross,” by Mrs McDonald (Kakaramea). Afternoon tea. was served.
