POPULAR SONG HITS

Every- time the popular Lancashire comedienne, Grade Fields, appears on the screen, she brings with her a number of songs that inevitably proye to be really- popular hits. It was this way with her four previous appearances, “Sally- in Our Ally-,” “Looking on the Bright Side,” “This Week of Grace,” and “Love, Life and Laughter,” and “Sing As Wc Go,” Grade’s latest and greatest serene musical comedy-; which will screen at the Opera House on Saturday and Monday.

“In My Little Bottom Drawer,” which is featured in’ “Sing As We Go” in Gracie’s own inimitable style, is far funnier than any of them. A very pretty number is “Love,” written in waltz time on similar lines to “Cherie,” the entrancing song.which Gracie sank as a duet with herself in “Love, Life and Laughter.” “Love” looks like being another really big hit. The other two numbers, “Sing As We Go” and “Sing a Catchy Little Tune” are also worthy of the star. Their attributes are those that go to make up a popular song hit—joyous melody and rhythm.
