ANNUAL MEETING HELD GOLDFIELDS HANDICAP TO QUIETLY SURPRISE BY COOMASSIE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, April 22. The Kumara Jockey Club’s annual meeting was held to-day in fine weather* The track was in good order. There was a largo attendance. The totalisator investments, single pool, were £5.144 10s, as against £3822. last year, a,n increase of £1322 10s. Results:—

TRIAL STAKES. •Of £4O. Five and a half furlongs. 1 Golden Dart (A. S. Ellis) 1 4 Copena (Drinkwater) 2 2 Nardoo (Hughes) 3 Also started: 7 Marmoratiou, 3 Impossible, 5 Kfakatoa, 6 Nolistina. Won by two lengths; a length. Time, 1.11.

DILLMAN’S HANDICAP. Of £55. Six furlongs. 3 Bella Rosa, 9.2 (Drinkwater) 1 6 Appeal, 7.5 (Moore) 2 1 Heather Glow, 8.8 (Brow T n) . 3 Also started: 4 Bettwyscoed, 8.5; 2 Night Recital, 8.0; 5 Solitaire 11., 7.10; 7 Fast Ace, 7.5. Won by a length each way. Solitaire 11. was fourth. Time, 1.16.

KUMARA GOLDFIELDS HANDICAP, Of £lO5. One mile and a quarter. 1 Quietly, 9.0 (Hughes) - 2 Monipcre, 9.0 (Walsh) 2 4 Coomassie, 8.0 (Shand) 3 Also started: 3 Sisterina, 7.3. Sisterina threw his jockey at the start. Monipere, Coomassie and Quietly were in close attendance for a mile, when Quietly took charge, and led into the straight from Monipere and Coomassie. The latter put in a challenge, but could not sustain it, Quietly winning comfortably.

BOROUGH TROT HANDICAP. Of £57; 2.27 class; 1 mile, 7 War Sheila, limit (Frost) 1 6 Decoy, limit (Lynch) 2 2 Glitter, limit (Withers) 3 Also started: 3 Native Home,, limit; 3 Cling Clang, limit; 1 Treasure Bond, limit; 4 Atarau King, 24yds; 5 Salute, 24yds; 9 Dawn Sonoma. 36yds. Won by a neck; three lengths. Atarau King was fourth. Time, 2.16. FLYING HANDICAP. Of £55. Won by a length and a half; half a' length. Margaret Rose was fourth. Time, 1.8 4-5.
