RUGBY MATCH AT ELTHAM
TUKAPA WIN HUTTON CUP. HOME TEAM DEFEATED. In a Rugby match at Eltham yesterday for a cup presented by J. C. Hutton, Ltd., Tukapa. defeated Eltham by eight points to three. The first spell ended in the visitors’ favour by eight points to nil, but in the second spell Eltham scored a try to reduce the majority. Eltham’s handling was not as good as that of Tukapa, and the speed, of the latter’s rearguard showed to advantage. Neither team was at full strength, hut fast football was played by both sides during the match. For Tukapa, tries were scored by Hanover and Sullivan, while one was converted by Boswell. Eltham’s try was scored by Bocoek. The teams were: Tukapa,—R. Knott; Hanover, J. Sullivan, G. Sullivan; Brown, Wallace; Boswell; F. Knott, N. Gardner, Sanger, Thomson, Sorensen, T. Boi I n a fourth grade match Eltham was 1 defeated by Tukapa by 22 points to 3 in a match which, although: willing, was a dull exhibition of the code.
