Some concern was felt among members of the Egmont Homing Pigeon Club yesterday when it was found that the last bird to arrive in a team’s race from Palmerston North to New Plymouth had been shot at, most of its tail feathers and a patch of feathers from one side being missing. The race was won by Mr J. James’ team in four hours 30 minutes.
