TEN OUTBREAKS OF FIRE
PROBLEM FOR BRIGADESMEN INVESTIGATE CB y Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 22. Ten distinct outbreaks of fire in n two-storeyed house in Arietoria Street west, Freeman’s Bay, presented an unusual problem to brigadesmen this afternoon and were later the subject of investigation by detectives. Four engines were quickly on the scene and the flames, which had a firm hold on bedding, curtains and wallpaper in various rooms, were extinguished before extensive damage had been caused. Two men in the house were unharmed. The damage, although general throughout the house, was not extensive. Only one room escaped entirely, but the prompt work of the brigade resulted in a. minimum of damage to. th* rest of the house.
