TEN-A-SIDE JUNIOR RUGBY
TOURNAMENT AT TARIKI
WIN FOR UNITED OLD BOYS.
Ihere were sixteen Rugby teams from all parts of the province at the annual junior -ten-a-side tournament at Tariki yesterday. The winners were United Old Boys A, who hold the Cassidy Cup for one year, the runners-up being Tariki A. The ground was made slippery early in the day by the rain, and as a result the standard of play was lowered somewhat. On the whole, however, the matches were bright and interesting and the allowance of fthree seniors to each team gave the juniors weight and balance that helped materially. Besides the tournament matches Rugby and basketball games were played between Norfolk Road and Tariki teams. Norfolk boys won the Sports and Pastimes Rugby Cup from Tariki by 6 to 3 and Tariki heat Norfolk for the Petrie Basketball Shield by 19 to 4. The referees were* Messrs W .J. Aitken, L. Wynyard, L.
